Description

Medium resolution session (~25 km / pixel) from circular orbit (altitude of Phobos).
Eastern part of Valles Marineris and Aurorae Planum, from Melas chasma, Eos and Capri chasmata, to chaotic terrains in Xanthe Terra.

Special corrections

  • Dark current file: fond1403.dg2
  • Gain = 2
  • Focal plane temperature = -76.2 °C
  • Shift in coordinates: Dlong = -1.2°, Dlat = 0.5°
  • Orbital parameters are not precisely known, and may have change during acquisition. Therefore, there could be a problem of projection at the eastern end, but the reference altimetry data available at the time (Mariner and Viking) are not reliable either in this region.
