PRODOP: computation of the hydrogen, calcium, helium and magnesium spectra for a 1D model of filament or prominence (PRD), with a velocity field
Author : P. Gouttebroze (Contacts: nicolas.labrosse/at/glasgow.ac.uk & Martine.Chane-Yook/at/ias.u-psud.fr)
- Purpose:
PRODOP is similar to PROM7 (atmopshere model is isothermal and isobar) and to PROM5 (atmosphere model has variable parameters across the solar structure) but computes helium and magnesium spectra, in addition to those of calcium and hydrogen.

PRODOP is provided under the GNU General Public Licence (GPL) version 3 or any later version.
The code was written in Fortran 77, adapted to Fortran 90 by M. C-Y. It must be compiled with an option which insures real numbers to be in double precision.
PRODOP was successfully tested on PCs running linux with gfortran compiler. The source codes are available here : PRODOP. The option insuring that reals are in double precision is already active by default for the gfortran compiler. For running the code, see the README files (English, French). For more details on PRODOP, see the user guide (English, French).
- Input files (test case):
- intinc_H.dat: principal data file for incident intensities (for the 10 lines formed between level 1 and level 5 of hydrogen). It contains the intensities at the solar disk center, as a function of wavelength, and a set of 6 parameters defining the limb darkening function
- intica.dat: data file for calcium lines (incident intensities)
- intinc_He.dat: file for helium lines (incident intensities)
- intimg.dat: file for magnesium lines (incident intensities)
- tembri.dat: for the rest of the spectrum (in this case, the intensities are given as brightness temperatures)
- model.dat: file including the number of models to be computed and for each model a line containing 6 parameters (temperature (K), gas pressure (dyn/cm2), thickness (km), microturbulent velocity (km/s), altitude (km) above the solar surface and bulk velocity (km/s)).
- Output files (test case):
- resume.dat: a summary of physical and spectroscopic parameters
- fort.66: transitions list
- profilh.pdf / profilh.dat: a set of hydrogen line profiles (plus the Lyman continuum) as a PDF file / the same data but given as numbers
- profica.pdf / profica.dat: a set of calcium line profiles as a PDF file / the same data but given as numbers
- profihe.pdf / profihe.dat: a set of helium line profiles as a PDF file / the same data but given as numbers
- profimg.pdf / profimg.dat: a set of magnesium line profiles as a PDF file / the same data but given as numbers
- pincmg.pdf / proinc.pdf: incident profile for magnesium and hydrogen as a PDF file
