This event is organized exclusively for guests invited by the scientific organizing committee. It is not open to the general public.

The Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SoHO) was launched on December 2nd, 1995, and to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the launch we would like to invite you to a celebration on December 10, 2025, hosted by ESA, CNES and IAS, at the Institut Pascal at Paris-Saclay University (530 Rue André Rivière, 91400 Orsay), starting at 2 p.m.

NB: this celebration was initially planned to take place at another university site (Henri Moissan site), which had to be closed for safety reasons (failure of air quality control systems). The new site chosen is 750m away from the previous one, both being located on the Saclay plateau.

The SoHO mission, jointly developed by ESA and NASA, with twelve instruments on board, dedicated to observing the Sun, from its innermost to its outermost layers, began its work in the spring of 1996. Since then, data has continued to arrive at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and to be relayed to the MEDOC data center at IAS on the Orsay campus. SOHO data has resulted in thousands of publications worldwide which have advanced our understanding of the Sun and heliosphere and enabled new space weather forecasting capabilities. SOHO has inspired new missions, a whole generation of scientists, and worldwide public interest in our star.

We will meet for this event from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. (provisional program below). The main scientific and technical results will be summarized for a non-specialist audience. The future of space solar physics will also be discussed. These presentations will be followed by a cocktail reception in the lobby of the Institut Pascal building, where scientific activities will brighten the end of the day.

The persons who have received an invitation can confirm their attendance or register by completing the following survey before October 10, 2025:
